My name is Samantha Legierse, for many I'm known as Sem. I am in my thirties. From day one I live in the Netherlands. Over the years I've set myself up as a global citizen to bring my lived experience to new places and see how much there is to do, to share and to discover. This to accomplish my personal mission; leaving the world better than I found it.

Dancing on my favorite African melodies.
For over years, I have found community and connection in the African music network. I experience music as a culture where everybody belongs, a stimulus for progress toward a more inclusive Africa, and a healthy, joyful lifestyle. That’s why I support local entrepreneurial dance groups, companies and schools with steps from across Africa and beyond. Whether Kizomba from Angola, Oriental Belly Dance from Egypt, or Latin styles from the Caribbean, it's just a beat away.
Orphanage charity work from just around the corner.
From across all areas of La Semme, I can instantly help rural orphanages extending their health and wellness. The Fund Orphanage Program (FOP) started in 2016 in South Africa by providing UNICEF WASH training and supply. I expanded the charity program to other African countries and seek to launch it also on Zanzibar. Over time, I've integrated plenty of SDG products and services into the program; adapted and donated according to orphanage's specific needs and accountability competences for rigorously measuring performance to verify compliance.

I'm a creative intelligence with an outstanding understanding of global trends, the UN system and its 2030 Agenda. In my role as SDG Reporter #Sustainable Development Reporter, I specialize in crafting innovative marketing strategies that seamlessly incorporate the SDGs in corporate reporting.
Through SDG Consultancy and SDG Technical Assistance I offer a unique perspective on societal trends and deliver mindblowing SDG products and services to international businesses with their operational locations across African sub-Saharan countries, and I engage with the UN system from across the globe.
By collaborating under diverse instruments and modalities, including “North-South” Cooperation, Official Development Assistance (ODA), non-profit, and international aid, I play a lead role in African inclusion, equal wellness and joy.
I feel I'm pure power with purpose. Running around to unleash the full speed and capabilities of where the SDGs can go. I work cross-functional and directly for company's marketing communications team that’s responsible for crafting the messages for your SDG Impact Report. I engage stakeholders; build trust and align investments through transparency and accountability, guide innovation and drive value creation. While I attract investments, unlock UN Technical Assistance capabilities and grow audience around the world in a way no one else can.

The fundamentals of my professional performance.
After graduation, and to date, I take courses on a variety of technical skill-building and professional development topics. From SDG education to comprehensive business apprenticeship programs, product innovation, marketing and people coaching.
On the career foundations as Trendwatcher, Marketing Executive, Concept Manager and VM Trainer, I started more than a decade ago with working as Sustainability Product Owner. Where my great ideas rose to the challenge, and where I worked in cross-functional collaboration because no one team is responsible for a product or a service on its own. Dozens of specialist teams are needed for even a single key component of a new sustainability launch. I engaged with top management, production and marketing teams over worldwide fashion houses and sales locations.
From 2016, I began to offer SDG Consultancy and SDG Technical Assistance to iconic brands working with the UN Fashion Alliance and MINO on the industry-leading UN SDG 9 Fashion Industry Innovation Program.
After familiarizing myself over the years with the functionality of the SDGs, I was looking to get out of my fashion comfort zone. So, I've expanded the scope into a network of multi-stakeholder opportunities to constant ignite my expertise.
Today, I serve multi-sector SDG Consultancy, SDG Technical Assistance and SDG Reporting, deliver SDG products and services to African impact zones of all types, and engage with UN institutions all around the world. Innovating new approaches all along the way.

I have created a strong foundation over the past 15 years in response to how I join a team, inspire the work and help define it.
To me, collaboration is more than simply working together; it means passionate, collaborative debate, advocating ideas, contest points of view, and ultimately build on each other’s thinking to come up with the best solution.
I believe innovation is led by those who know their stuff and are constantly on top of the latest trends, resources and best practices. In vibrant feminine style and with a positive 'yes-we-can attitude', I take the room to pitch bold yet informed ideas that lead to great breakthroughs. That’s why clients entitle me often as the ’agent of change'.
Further, I have what it takes to go as far as I want with ideas. And no idea is too crazy. My creations are grounded on incredibly high standards and made with revolutionary precision for a quality level that perform exactly as promised.
I never sit still, won’t either hang out on one level. To meet the SDG targets within a fast-running global business, I use my leadership position as a socially responsible corporate citizen. This means joining a high-level meeting and one hour later roll up my sleeves for a field mission; engaging with every kind of brilliant, from every level across different areas of expertise, and explore countless perspectives; seamlessly connect the dots.

Halfway to 2030, the world is not on track to achieve the SDGs. To accelerate progress, everyone needs to rethink, refocus, and recharge. La Semme's contribution to speed up SDG progress from within is to continue moving capacity building forward. Working closely with educators and professionals, especially those of the UN, that provide resources, including curricula, mentorship, technology and tools, to continuously invest in my professional success and get the 2030 Agenda done!
